Eyelashes like any other hair can get thinner as you age due to life stressors and hormonal changes. If you have medical conditions that affect your thyroid or eye conditions that cause inflammation around your lashes like blepharitis, you are at more risk.

Latisse – it is the only product currently approved by the FDA to grow eyelashes. It is a formulation of an old glaucoma drop. It was noted that patients who took that glaucoma eye drop had longer lashes. The downside of Latisse is that it carries the side effects of that glaucoma drop which includes possible darkening of your eye color or skin around your eye, thinning of the skin/fat surrounding your eyes, and increased risk of inflammation in your eye if you have had inflammation before. If you would like Latisse, you would need to see Dr. Kuriachan first to make sure your eye will be okay taking it, then a prescription can be placed to your local pharmacy.
